This needs to be on top of your agenda: 25th of February De Handelsbeurs in Gent organises its annual Night of the Gipsies. After Boban Markovic and Kocani Orkestar in the former editions, this year it is up to... Fanfare Ciocarlia!
These true gipsy musicians have roots in Romania, but live in the US where they continue to produce their joyful traditional music and mix it with western influences.
After the release of their latest CD "Gili Garabdi" they are nominated for the prestigious BBC3 Award for World Music in the category "Europe".

A more South-western European timbre at Night of the Gipsies is expected from "Gitans de Perpignan" where you'll hear more the sounds of Flamenco.
